the deservedly infamous JON SPENCER BLUES EXPLOSION tore through San Francisco one balmy summer night not very long ago, and after my defeat at the front lines of their invasion in Malmo, Sweden, this time i hit pay dirt.
i shared a few words with guitarist & occasional singer judah BAUER when all was said and done. (this is a new feature here at the home of p.m.r. - every so often a new band will be interviewed - the 5 W's & How?, plus a story about that age-old indie-rock institution, crashing at people's homes on tour.) voila.

"there's a story i always hear about, and read about. actually the first time i heard about it was when i read about it in a magazine. i was so drunk one night in europe that i was sitting eating a piece of cheese, at least i thought it was a piece of cheese. THE DEVIL DOGS came in and saw me munching on a piece of soap. i thought i was eating some funky european cheese or something when i was like eating Lever 2000..."
